As spring approaches, it is important to acknowledge life balance. It is the time of year when everything “revs up” and we begin to fill our calendars with lots of “to do’s”. This is the perfect workshop to connect with yourself through breath and relaxation which in turn will align the proper balance and harmony needed to step forward and grow. Nate, Massage Therapist and Rae Ann, Yoga Instructor will provide you with the tools to tap into what balance is to you thru a series of Restorative Yoga poses. These restful poses along with essential oils and touch will assist in tuning into your body and mind.

In a tranquil candlelit environment, we will support your poses with bolsters, blankets, sandbags, blocks and straps. Guided meditation/readings focusing on life balance will provide you with guidance to help you attain your own life balance. Soothing music will accompany each pose while oils and massage are applied. Join us as spring approaches and allow us to provide you with the proper channels to bring balance to your life and prepare you for what lies ahead.

We’re getting creative and joining forces with Michelle Lewis from Shelscapes to give you a super fun, never been done before workshop!

What to expect:

Kayla Wetherbee will guide you through a 60 minute powerful vinyasa flow where you’ll set your intention, ground deeply, connect with breath, and fill up with lots of positive light-filled energy and then end with a very relaxing Savasana.

Then we’ll set up shop and Michelle will guide us through a mandala inspired paint session. We’ll dig deep into our creative minds and express ourselves on our Canvases.

Each yogi will need to bring their yoga mats, something to change into after their practice, and a towel to lay over their mats for the paint session.

$50/person which includes:

~60 minute yoga practice

~2 hour paint session

As our core supports us physically in our practice, building abdominal strength gives us the potential to improve nearly every asana, allowing us to flow with ease. This workshop will emphasize core awareness in traditional vinyasa flow and focus on activating the midline as we move. Learn to increase balance, activate your deepest abdominal muscles, and build the foundation for inversions and arm balances through intensive core work.... and have fun!

Join Jay Guanci and Karen Cullen for this healing workshop! Do you love yoga or acupuncture and want to see how they mix? Have you been doing one and wondering what the other has to offer? The word yoga means union. It’s the joining together of breath, body and mind - mind, body and spirit. This unique class will begin with centering through a mindful meditation followed by the exploration of the breath through a multiple intelligent, gentle, therapeutic flow. This program will stretch and soothe every space in the physical body. Class will conclude with a Yoga Nidra as Jay performs your treatment, then an extended savasana (resting pose).

Simple treatment options will include a choice of:

• Four Gates Treatment - Helps with calming and quieting the mind, strengthening and nourishing all the muscles and tendons.

• Head Over Heels - Can treat headache or plantar fasciitis.

• Back In Action Treatment - Targeting the spinal column and muscles of the back and neck.

Jay Guanci, Lic. Ac. has been practicing acupuncture in Reading since 2007. He holds a Master’s degree in acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture, the country’s oldest college of Oriental Medicine. Jay is trained in both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, as well as Dr. Tan's balance style. He is experienced in treating all types of health issues. He's been practicing yoga regularly for 6 years and is very intrigued by the similarities in these two disciplines.

Karen Cullen, MA, E-RYT, RMT - has studied various styles of yoga, meditation, therapeutic touch, and mindfulness for many years with notable teachers to heal herself physically, emotionally and spiritually. She is a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher receiving her E-RYT 200 through the Yoga Alliance and she is also a Usui Reiki Master Teacher. Karen received both her BA in Human Development and her MA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Integrated Holistic Health with an emphasis studying expressive therapies, movement, yoga and therapeutic touch through Lesley University. She has experience teaching both Hatha Yoga and Reiki at colleges, studios, hospitals, and gyms to people who want to empower themselves to heal.
